Brooks Baptiste is an Emmy-nominated anchor for Atlanta News First. You can catch him on the air weekday mornings.
Since joining the team in 2021, he's anchored coverage for some of North Georgia's biggest stories including the Apalachee High School mass shooting, the Fulton County indictment against Former President Trump, Hurricane Helene, UGA's 2022 National Football Championship and the 2021 Atlanta Braves World Series title. Brooks has interviewed several notable entertainers, such as Louis Gossett Jr., Marlon Wayans, Lupita Nyong’o, Rian Johnson, Tommy Davidson, T.I., Jermaine Dupri, Janelle Monae, Nick Cannon, Bill Bellamy and Eva Marcille. |
Prior to calling the metro home, he worked as a trending news reporter in Jacksonville. During his time with First Coast News WTLV/WJXX and Good Morning Jacksonville, he launched 'The Buzz', a franchise that gained millions of views through several platforms and sparked conversation around some of the day’s top stories.
Brooks is a graduate of the University of North Florida, holding a Bachelor of Science in communication, with a focus in multimedia journalism and production.
